Sunshine Blogger Award

Hello there, everyone! I want to give a big thank you to Grace over at Grace Notes for tagging me to do the fabulous Sunshine Blogger Award! I am very excited to do this, so I hope you all will enjoy reading it as well! So, let’s get into this, shall we? *smiles*

Here are the rules for this tag (copied from Grace’s blog):

Thank the blogger who nominated you and link their blog. Answer the questions the blogger who nominated you provided (11 maximum). Nominate new bloggers and make up 11 questions for them to answer. List the rules and have the Sunshine Blogger logo present in your post.

Let’s delve into these questions!

1 – What is your favorite verse about the Son?

Hmmm, I love so many… but if I have to choose I would say John 3:16. It is such a beautiful picture of God’s love for us in that He sent us His Only Son to DIE for us, so that we could live FOREVER with HIM! What Love! What Hope!

2 – Who in your life is an example of radiating Christ?

My (unofficially) Adopted Big Sister. She is such an inspiration, encouragement and light into my life – she always points me to Christ and she lives her life dedicated to Jesus. I love her to pieces!

3 – List three ways you can be a light for Christ.

  1. Aspire to encourage and uplift others every single day.
  2. Create cards and/or send e-cards to brighten people’s day
  3. Use my writing to glorify my Savior

4 – What is your favorite flower?

Why, the Rose of course! *smiles* Only my close friends know why though…

5 – What is your favorite missionary story?

I adore missionaries and their stories! I could never choose just one… a few from the top of my head would be Katie Davis Majors, Brother Andrew, Richard and Sabina Wurmbrand, Mary Slessor… I could go on!

6 – Name your #1 spiritual growth/missionary biography book suggestion.

Kisses from Katie by Katie Davis Majors. It is such an incredible book, it changed my life and I love it so much.

7 – How have you been able to use your gift for the Lord?

Hmm, well, in my writing I always strive to point others to Christ at all times. He is the Reason I can write, He gave me my abilities and I want to give Him every bit of the glory and honor I may receive.

8 – In what direction do you think God is leading you to in the future?

I feel Him leading me in a few different directions… the main one is foreign missions. I know the Lord has called me to proclaim His Word to all peoples – as He has called all Christians –and I am dedicated to never stop going until I change this world for Him! A particular country I pray to go to is Uganda, it is such a beautiful country and I can’t wait to share God’s Hope with its people!

9 – What are your favorite lyrics from a hymn/song?

I adore so many songs… but one in particular would be World Changers by Matthew West. What an amazing and inspiring song!

10 – Share with us a little bit about your greatest passion!

Well, since I covered my passion for missions in the other questions, I will focus on another passion of mine. I have a passion to encourage. To bring smiles to people’s faces, to assure them of how much they truly are loved – every single day of their entire lives. Even on your worst day, Jesus loves you beyond words. If I could have people remember me for one thing, it would be that I encouraged them and uplifted them in their lives and walks with their Savior. I just love to bring people joy and to make their days bright – Jesus lives in my heart and He fills me with so much joy that I must let that joy shine into the lives of others!

11 – Choose one verse you think best encompasses the idea of shining for Christ.

I really love Matthew 5:16 where it says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

I hope you all enjoyed reading my answers! Thank you, Grace, for asking such insightful, meaningful questions, I really had fun answering them!

Now here are my questions for my nominess!

  1. Would you like to share your Salvation testimony with your readers?
  2. What is a Bible verse you would like to embolden with your life?
  3. What method do you use for memorizing Scripture?
  4. Do you enjoy writing poetry?
  5. What is your all time favorite Christian book (it can be fiction, biography, ect)
  6. What would you like to be remembered for?
  7. In what ways do you hope to serve our Savior in your life?
  8. Do you have a favorite Christian band, will you share your favorite song of thiers?
  9. What is your main purpose for your blog?
  10. Would you consider yourself to having a ministry? It can be anything, from using your musical talent, or creative talent, or writing talent, ect. How do you use your ministry for Jesus?
  11. Do you enjoy and are you encouraged by Christ’s Light Magazine?

The Enchanting Rose Teacup and Mug Exchange Reveal

Greetings, my friends! Today is The Enchanting Rose Teacup and Mug Reveal! I am so excited to share with you all about the latest exchange; I had ever so much fun participating!

Each time registration for the Teacup and Mug Exchange opens up, I get so excited. This event is something I look forward to all year long!

I really enjoyed putting a lovely package together for my new pen-pal Emily, shopping around for a teacup and all the goodies to put together is always such a fun experience. *smiles* Emily, I am so happy to hear you loved your package so much and I am very excited to be your new friend and pen-pal!

The week of my birthday I received a package in the mail, and what a lovely package it was! The box – even from the outside – was so beautiful! Written on the side were the words, “Hostage Teacup!”, isn’t that hysterical? My new friend Mali spoiled me so much, I am beyond thankful! She sent me many yummy and pretty things – I love them all!

Just look at that gorgeous teacup! Right before I participated in the most recent exchange, I had seen a photo of a tea cup with three “feet” and thought it was just so cute and unique, so when I opened the gorgeous keepsake box Mali sent the teacup in, I was so surprised and thrilled! She sent a lovely teacup decorated with daffodils (I love those…) and lots of gold accents, along with those charming little “feet”! *smiles* It will be a treasured addition to my small collection to be sure – I love it!

Look how beautiful everything all put together is! Dear Mali sent three different types of tea, I was so surprised! Two are Asian varieties, one being a Jasmine Green Tea that is simply scrumptious (How did you know I love that flavor, Mali?) and the other being a delicious smelling green tea I can’t wait to try! She also sent me the Celestial Seasonings Fruit Sampler Box, one of my top favorites! I particularly am enjoying the blueberry variety, it is so good! *smiles*

Along with the tea, it came with a very useful, plus quite colorful, set of baking measuring cups which I have already put to good use. *smiles* An adorable book of tea themed stickers, which, if you know me well, you know that when I receive stickers I get rather excited, haha! She sent two adorable pens, and look at that cross stitch bookmark! Look how intricate and beautiful it is! Mali is such a talented seamstress; I have the bookmark in my Bible where I will cherish it for years to come. *smiles* Another charming bookmark came in her sweet letter, and I have to say those Skittles were quite the treat!

Six Ways to Make Your Pen-Pal’s Day

Would you happen to have a pen-pal or two, or even ten or more? So do I! That’s why today I wanted to share with you six ways you can make your pen-pal’s day extra bright when they open their next letter; because to be honest, who doesn’t just love finding a beautiful, handwritten letter in their mailbox? *smiles*

  1. Include a treat!

One way I love to make my letters into little packages is to include little goodies for the recipient to enjoy! A neat idea is to include yummy drink packets such as tea, cocoa, instant coffee or even Kool-Aid. *smiles*

  2. Decorate your envelopes.

Who doesn’t love opening their mailbox to find a gorgeous envelope all decorated with stickers and washi tape? Have fun and make your envelope unique; you can write the addresses in different colors using special fonts, and you can also draw pretty designs. A creative option is to make your own envelope out of scrapbook paper, calendar pages, or even a brown paper grocery sack! A way you can also witness to others about Christ through the mail system is to write Scripture or use Christian stickers on the back of your envelopes. There are so many ways to turn a plain envelope into a work of art!

  3. Use unique stamps and return address labels.

It is surprising how many unique kinds of stamps the postal service has to offer! You can purchase many different themed ones; such as pets, flowers, movies, holidays and much more. When it comes to return address labels, there are lots of options as well. If you are on a budget or do not want to spend a lot of money, you can make your own creative labels or even just write your address specially on the envelope in lovely fonts and colors. *smiles*

  4. Be creative with your writing mediums!

This is where it gets especially fun! When writing your letter, there are literally hundreds of creative options you can use! There are pretty stationary sets you can purchase, or you can decorate paper you already have with stickers, washi tape, and drawings. Writing with colored pens is also an enjoyable option!

  5. Include little gifts.

You can have such a great time in this area. There are so many small things you can include inside your letter that will be sure to make your recipient’s day a happy one! A few ideas include: stickers, bookmarks, Scripture cards, sticky notes, gum, a small notecard for the recipient to use, a photo of yourself or a pet, a hand drawn piece of art or handlettering, washi tape, small woven keychains or bracelets, a story or poem you have written, a copy of your favorite recipe, a postcard from where you live or from a recent vacation, a packet of flower seeds, hair ties, and so much more!

  6. Remember their birthday

A special way to make your pen-friend feel especially loved and cherished is to ask them for their birthdate, and remember to send them a card or package when the time comes! It will bring them so much joy and happiness as they celebrate their special day to know that their friend thought of them and loves them so much!

I hope these ideas have been helpful to you all as you decide how you would like to spoil your pen-friend! Let’s keep the lost art of letter writing alive, encouraging and uplifting people – one parcel at a time! *smiles* God bless you all abundantly as you strive to bless others!
